Country House Front Porch Re-Model

North Facing View

This was a front porch Re-model I did at a country house in Calling Lake Alberta. The space was unused and the clients wanted a space to relax in, entertain in and also add more square footage to the home.

The South facing view. The Light pours in and really adds magic.

I really enjoyed this project and I think the clients were very happy. Its a beautiful place and I love visiting, having Ice tea and enjoying the views. Enjoy the pics and process.

I started with concepts for how I wanted the space to look and feel. I really think this was realized. I wanted to use antiques that the client had to create a modern farmhouse aesthetic.
Concept Board

The color palette was serene and calming, as well as complementary to the natural environment.

This daybed is for reading or sleeping...or both. The bed is an old antique school bed. I created the canopy.
This old cabinet was painted white and is used to display antiques and collectibles.

Palm Trees add a tropical "Vacation" feel. The cushions were sewn by the client.

This double door was salvaged from the local dump and painted a sage green.

Below are some pics of the building Process:
This was the deck before....outdoor storage. The walls were removed for the reno, painted, then put back in.

It all began with a new floor.

Lights are installed

New ceiling looks great, ready for white wash, very prairie style.

Client and her dog imagine the finished product

screens were added to most windows

View from the outside. (Dont mind the mess..)
