Jim Henson's LABYRINTH Sculptures

Hey everyone! I just came back from Easter break visiting my mom in Desmairis, Alberta and I was reminded that she had all of my "Labyrinth" sculptures in a display cabinet. Jim Henson's Labyrinth is one of my all time FAVORITE movies (along with Dark Crystal and Nightmare Before Christmas) and I though I would share them with you all. These were the FIRST sculpts I ever did! I think it was 1997 or 1998. Although I know I could do a better job now, I love reflecting on previous work and appreciating the moment for where I was creatively at the time. I still think they have the magic and charm intended by Jim Henson and the Henson Studios. Incidentally, I have an amazing storybook which I based all of the sculpts on, I'm including the pictures for reference. Thanks again guys, and please enjoy the pics and commentary:) Lance

I purchased this little fairy trinket, it was the perfect scale

I wish I could re do the shirt so it was more detailed, but I still love it

I love it! Thanks for posting Lance. I'm enjoying your work very much. I remember you had Whoville in your hotel room at Celebrations one year. :)

I'm so happy to hear you're continuing to express yourself through visual arts as well as your music. {{{HUG}}} Thanks for bringing a smile to my face today.

Lance, I always leave your posts for the end of my work day, when I need a little lift. You NEVER disappoint! I just watched "Labrynth" again about a month ago, so all of the characters are fresh in my mind. I think you captured them all extremely well! Your attention to detail is pretty incredible! Fantastic work!

Thank you very much for another great post !

You know who played Ludo in Labyrinth ? That's right: Ron Mueck. He's an amazing sculptor these days ! You should google him.

You never cease to amaze me. Your work is awesome and being your first sculpt, you had and still have awesome talent. I only hope to be as good as you someday. I have been on ebay trying to start my collection of the muppets by Palisades. So far I have Fossie and just won pepe the vacation addition. Can't wait to try my hand at the muppet stage but when I do I promise to send you some pics. Thanks again for the inspiration.
