Hey everyone! This was a really cool project, and a very "west coast" project.
In 2006-2007 I was hired as a design intern for the Vancouver Opera’s New Production of “The Magic Flute”. This production was to be presented in a West Cost First Nations style and I was brought in to contribute creatively and also assist the lead set designer.
I was also hired as Lead Designer for the Vancouver Opera’s School Touring Production of “The Magic Flute-Quest for the Box of Shadows”.
In this smaller production I was asked to design the Set, Costumes, and Masks. This was also done with the same West Coast First Nations Influence.

The centre wall is a fabric that can have projections/shadows on it from the rear. |
Below are some costume/mask and Prop design drawings from the production:
I hope you enjoyed these pictures. Thanks again!
